Global Resilience Federation Launches eXchange for Automated Threat Information Sharing Within its Member Network

Reston, VA, USA – November 14, 2018 – Global Resilience Federation (GRF) announced today that it has created and launched a fully automated data sharing program to enable GRF member communities to participate in a cross-industry, multi-directional exchange of threat information, in real time.

GRF eXchange is a program that facilitates threat information sharing among GRF affiliated communities spanning seven different industries and multiple global partners, together forming a defensive network of more than 7,000 organizations across four continents.

“GRF provides access to hundreds of thousands of industry-specific Indicators of Compromise each month,” said Cindy Donaldson, president of GRF. “By automatically incorporating threat data and intelligence from our member communities, and sharing that information throughout the member network, we greatly improve our shared defense against malicious threat actors, pervasive malware, and systems vulnerabilities.”

GRF eXchange supplements a sharing community’s existing sources of intelligence with real-time, automated, tactical, and actionable data from other members in the GRF network that includes Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC), Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO), Energy Analytic Security Exchange, Oil and Natural Gas ISAC, Health ISAC, Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center, Retail ISAO and Multi-State ISAC, and global partners like KraftCERT and European Energy Information Sharing & Analysis Centre. The program was designed to incorporate both proven information sharing protocols and the technology that facilities automatic distribution among the ISACs, ISAOs and computer emergency response teams (CERTs).

“I am excited that GRF is offering this feed to its member communities,” added Andy Antoniou, chief information officer of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and a member of the Legal Services ISAO Executive Committee and GRF Board of Directors. “This is a natural progression for the GRF network and a necessary step for law firms and other industries as we advance our protection measures.”
