LS-ISAO Expands to Firms in Australia and New Zealand

Reston, VA – June 26, 2017– The Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (LS-ISAO) has voted to open membership to law firms in Australia and New Zealand.

This expansion of eligible nations broadens the base of possible member firms, and will increase the scope and volume of intelligence available to the information sharing community. LS-ISAO now includes 120 law firms from Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, representing more than half of the Am Law 200 in the U.S.

LS-ISAO, a non-profit, assists firms by providing intelligence, analysis, infrastructure, and resources that law firms leverage to defend their businesses. Within this hub of information exchange in the legal services industry, members share indicators of compromise (IOCs) and threats from malware, trojans and business email compromise (BEC) attacks, among other dangers.

As threats against the legal services industry are increasingly global in nature, firms must work together to ensure mutual security for reasons of reputation, revenue, and responsibility.

LS-ISAO member benefits include:

  • Alerts and advisories on cyber and physical threats specific to the legal services industry

  • Vulnerability monitoring of systems used by the legal services industry

  • Dark web detection

  • Cross-industry threat sharing

  • Dedicated security analyst

  • Emergency notification system

  • Secure threat sharing platform

  • Member committees, user groups, and surveys

  • Media communications support

  • Regular member events and workshops

LS-ISAO is a member-driven organization whose mission is to provide a secure framework for sharing actionable threat and vulnerability information in partnership with leading sources of threat intelligence, while fostering member collaboration with and among other key sectors and government agencies to prevent and respond to cybersecurity incidents.

Law firms join LS-ISAO to “trust-source” threat indicators with industry peers, and gain additional intelligence through analysts who research, anonymize, and disseminate actionable product in real and near real time.
