RESTON, VA – January 25, 2018- Global Resilience Federation (GRF) partnered with Cyware Labs to customize a role-based secure communication and information sharing solution that GRF is now adopting for its cross-sector analysts and GRF supported communities in the utilities and legal sectors. Members of these communities will also leverage the tailored Cyware Situational Awareness Platform (CSAP) as an efficient tool for the strategic and tactical member-to-member communications that are critical to threat intelligence sharing communities.
The Legal Services Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (LS-ISAO) and the Energy Analytic Security Exchange (EASE) will adopt CSAP for threat intelligence submissions and distribution, document storage, analyst workflow capability, surveys, and real-time member and analyst collaboration using its unique secure messaging platform. CSAP also provides desktop member dashboards, and iOS and Android mobile apps that can be used for receiving intelligence feeds, real-time updates, as well as crisis communication alerts on mobile devices in the event of a physical or cyber emergency.
“The Cyware platform will expand the exchange of information and intelligence in a user-friendly environment that adds to the secure sharing capabilities of LS-ISAO and EASE,” said Cindy Donaldson, president of GRF. “GRF and the communities it supports are always seeking robust tools that make sharing easier and more impactful for members. CSAP was customized for sharing communities based on input from GRF, and we look forward to assisting with even more engagement among members as they work to protect their individual organizations and industries.”
Cyware’s solution provides industry standard security measures which allow for centralized communication, establishing a singular view of threats and increasing the speed of response. Cyware products include real-time micro-role and location-based alerting with functionality to gather open source intelligence through its machine-learning engine and orchestration features to integrate with other leading IT and security products. Its solutions promote new ways of sharing sensitive information using Traffic Light Protocol (TLP), intel feed ratings, member feedback, and secure private messaging, while ensuring the communication is secured via two-factor authentication (OTP, TouchID, FaceID) and data encryption.
“We are excited to work with GRF,” said Cyware Labs co-founder Anuj Goel. “Working together, we customized our situational awareness and information sharing platform for ISACs, ISAOs, and associations in order to provide an easy, secure communication and collaboration environment for their members to share critical security information that protects companies in an increasingly hostile environment. GRF supports several sharing communities that span thousands of members across dozens of countries, so they are a natural partner for Cyware in this space.”
GRF and the LS-ISAO and EASE communities will adopt the platform in early 2018. Other GRF affiliated ISACs and ISAOs will have the opportunity to leverage the solution as well.
“2017 was a banner year for GRF,” Donaldson added. “Our members shared thousands of actionable alerts, came together at multiple in-person events and workshops, and continually engaged in analyst-to-analyst biweekly calls. Now the Cyware platform provides a number of new ways for members to work together against bad actors, within and across industries that sometimes face the same threats."
Global Resilience Federation (GRF) is a non-profit hub for support, analysis, and multi-industry intelligence exchange between ISACs and ISAOs, each of which facilitates cyber and physical intelligence sharing for a specific industry. GRF’s mission is to help assure the resilience of critical and vital infrastructure against threats that could significantly impact the orderly functioning of the global economy. GRF members include Financial Services ISAC, Legal Services ISAO, and Energy Analytic Security Exchange, among others. GRF is also engaged with CERTs and other bodies around the world that seek to protect certain regions and industries.
